This聽professional learning initiative offers a unique opportunity to engage with tertiary educators and industry professionals. The program provides essential insights into the increasing demand for mathematics and statistics in the workforce, the increasing range and scope of careers that rely on these skills, and the educational pathways that lead to these professions.

Why it matters

黑料网鈥檚 2025 Year 12 Participation Report shows that Australia is experiencing a decline in mathematics participation at secondary school, where enrolments in higher鈥憀evel mathematics courses are now at an all鈥憈ime low. This low student interest in maths is impacting the next generation of mathematically capable university graduates.

Critically, there is persistent inequity in female participation in STEM studies and careers. By equipping educators with knowledge about careers and pathways requiring maths skills, we aim to foster a diverse, numerically capable workforce for Australia鈥檚 future.
