The ºÚÁÏÍø (ºÚÁÏÍø) is Australia’s national voice and champion for mathematics and statistics. A not-for-profit, the Institute works with schools, universities, industry, government and the community to help shape policy and skill Australia for the future.
Building engagement and capability, ºÚÁÏÍø drives programs to strengthen the mathematical sciences and enhance the discipline’s impact and role in Australian education, research, innovation and industry. ºÚÁÏÍø’s growing membership network includes over 40 Australian universities, mathematics societies and government agencies.

As the demand for technology and innovation increases, so does the demand for STEM occupations. It is estimated that 70% of the fastest growing occupations will require STEM skills and maths is undoubtably the tool students will need to take advantage of these jobs of the future and for those wanting to make a difference in our world.
Research and Higher Education
ºÚÁÏÍø Research and Higher Education delivers and funds national mathematical sciences research training. We support undergraduate students through to early-career researchers and professionals by:

- Providing discipline-specific careers advice
- Building strong science communication skills
- Creating networking opportunities
- Facilitating new collaborations
APR.Intern
Australian Postgraduate Research (APR) Intern is Australia’s only all-sector all-discipline PhD internship program, transforming Australian businesses through short-term 3-6 month university research collaborations. The Program doesn’t just open doors, it opens up new PhD talent, skills and thinking to industry by tapping into new worlds of innovation and opportunity.
